Smita Bansal (born on 21st February 1978) is an Indian television actress and model who is well known for her work in many popular television shows. Apart from television serials, she has also worked in a number of Bollywood and Malayalam movies. She has won several awards for her performances in different shows. Smita is currently featuring in the SAB TV show, Aladdin where she’s playing the role of Aladdin’s mother.

Smita Bansal was born in Jaipur, Rajasthan to Sudhir and Shashi Bansal. Her father is a businessman. Her mother is a homemaker. She has a brother who’s a doctor. Smita has completed her schooling from India international school, Jaipur. She was always keen on acting and wanted to pursue her career in that field so she decided to move to Mumbai in order to pursue her dream. Acting has always been her passion and she realized that at a very young age. She even participated in several extracurricular activities when she was in school. Apart from acting, se also likes singing and playing Indian musical instruments.

Smita is currently married and in a committed relationship with her husband Ankush Mohal who is also an actor and director. The couple got married on 8th December, 2000. It was a love cum arranged marriage. She’s living a happily married life with her husband and two lovely daughters.

Smita Bansal wanted to pursue her career in acting so she came to Mumbai and started off with some ad commercials and modelling assignments. After that she got her big break with the show Kora Kagaz in 1998. She played the role of Priya on the show. The show was a huge hit and after that, she never looked back in her life. Smita became a permanently figure on the small screen.
She had played some of the most notable roles in shows such as Sanjivani- A Medical Boon, Yeh Meri Life Hai, Ashirwad, C.I.D etc. She was very much appreciated for her performance in one of the most running shows titled Baalika Vadhu as the mother of the protagonist. She received huge appreciation and numerous awards for the best actress in a supporting role. Smita has played numerous memorable roles in her career. She also participated in reality shows like Nach Baliye 5, Fear Factor and Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 4.
