Shankar Ashwath (born on 23 March 1958) is a South Indian actor. He is popularly known for being the son of K S Ashwath who is one of the greatest actors in the Kannada film industry. He has worked in some of the most popular Kannada movies. He increased his fan base after participating in the TV reality show called Bigg Boss Kannada Season 8 in 2021.

Early life and Background
Shankar Aswath was born and raised in Mysore, Karnataka. He belongs to a rich Hindu family. His father, KS Ashwath is a legendary actor in the Kannada film industry. His mother’s name is Sharadamma and she’s a housewife. Shankar has three siblings, one brother named Subbukrishna Ashwath and two sisters named Vijaya Murthy and Nagarathna Ashwath. He completed his schooling at Sarada Vilas High School, Mysore, and graduated from JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru. He was into acting since childhood because of his father. He has always been a hardworking and brilliant kid during his childhood and up until now.
Personal life
Shankar is married to Sudha Shankar Ashwath. She runs a catering service called “Annapoorna Caterers” in Mysore. The couple got blessed with a son named Skanda R Ashwath who is now a National level swimmer and swimming coach at the University of Mysuru. Shankar loves his small family and considers it a blessing.

Career
Shankar followed in his father’s footsteps and decided to start his career in acting. He has worked in the Kannada film industry for 25 years. He has acted in various Kannada films like ‘Nirbandha’ in 1996, ‘Nandhi’ in 2002, ‘Raaj the Showman’ in 2009, and ‘RangiTaranga’ in 2015. After working for so many years in the Kannada films he decided to quit acting because of the lack of opportunities. He started working as a driver in Uber. In 2021, he decided to participate in the TV reality game show called Bigg Boss Kannada Season 8 and gained a lot of fans.
