Rio Raj (born on 17th February 1989) is a well-known video jockey, actor and anchor in the Tamil Entertainment Industry. He is also known as Sun Music Rio and is very popular among the Tamil folk. He made his debut with the television show Kana Kaanum Kaalangal-Kaloori Saalai in 2011 and his film debut with the Kollywood movie Sathriyan in the year 2017 alongside Vikram Prabhu. He was born in the city of Erode in Tamil Nadu and his amazing talent has made him a household name not only in his state but also in the country. In 2020, he appeared as one of the contestants in the reality TV show Bigg Boss Tamil season 4.

Early life and Background
Rio Raj was born and brought up in a middle-class family in the city of Erode in Tamil Nadu. He practices Christianity. His father is an employee in a small firm in Erode whereas his mother is a housewife. Rio is very close to his parents since his early childhood days. He finished his early education from Boys Government Higher Secondary School, Erode, Tamil Nadu and went on to pursue a diploma in Computer Science Engineering in Guru Raghavendra Polytechnic College in Tamil Nadu. He participated in many shows as an anchor in his school and college days.
Personal life
Rio got married to his childhood sweetheart Sruthi Ravi on 9th February, 2017 at an early age of 28. These two love birds participated in the reality TV show Jodi Number 1 as a couple. They were blessed with a beautiful baby girl whom they named as Rithi. Since the birth of his only child, Rio has been working hard to support his family as well as his career as an actor and a video Jockey.

Career
Rio Raj started his career as an actor for Vijay TV. He became famous after acting in the television show Kana Kaanum Kaalangal Kalooriyin Kathai on one of the best channels of Vijay TV. He then tried his skills as a VJ for Sun Music. Rio anchored in many shows for Sun Music and has been a part of it for the past 3 years. He acquired the nickname “Sun Music Rio” because of his undying love for his career in the anchoring industry. He turned out as the lead actor of Star Vijay serial called Saravanan Meenatchi Season 3 after anchoring for years.
Some of the most famous shows he has played the main host in are Suda Suda Chennai, Your Attention Please, Kaloorikalam, Free Ah Vidu, etc. He won the award for TV actor who made into silver screens in 2019 by Galatta Nakshatra Awards.
