Akhil Akkineni ( born on 8th April 1994) is an Indian actor who works predominantly in the Telegu film industry. He is the son of famous actors Akkineni Nagarjuna and Amala. His grandfather is the popular actor Nageshwara Rao and his half-brother is Akkineni Naga Chaitanya.
His sister in law is actor Samantha Akkineni. The actor pursued acting at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute. He made his debut in films in 2014 through a cameo in Manam. His movie as a lead role was Akhil in 2015.

Early life and Background
Akhil Akkineni was born in San Jose, California in the United States of America to parents Kamala Akkineni and Nagarjuna Akkineni. His father Nagarjuna Akkineni is an actor and entrepreneur. His mother Kamala Akkineni is an actor. The young actor comes from a very filmy family and one of the famous families in the industry.
He is the grandson of actor Nageshwara Rao and half brother of Akkineni Naga Chaitanya. His sister in law Samantha Akkineni is also an actor. Akhil studied at Chaitanya Vidyalaya and later went to Australia for two years. He returned to India to complete his studies at Oakridge International School in Hyderabad.
He pursued his acting career at the age of only sixteen and enrolled in an acting school at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in New York. Other than that he is also educationally qualified in Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of South Florida, College of Marine Science. He was engaged to long time lover Shriya Bhupal but later on, got separated since his father was against their marriage.

Career
Akhil Akkineni debuted as an infant in his father’s production Shiva Nageshwara Rao’s comedy film Sisindri in 1995. Later in his teen, he played cricket and became a member of his father’s King team. His match-winning half-century in the final against Venkatesh Daggubati’s Warriors saw him secure the man of the match and the man of the series award.
His performance got him called to play for the Telegu Warriors in the inaugural Celebrity Cricket Leagues (CCL) in 2011. Since then he regularly played in the CCL tournament, winning the 2016 edition as Captain of his team. In 2014 he appeared in a cameo in Maanam.
The film won the Best Film award at the Film fare. The actor then went on to make appearances in several commercials like for Karbonn, Mountain Dew and Titan. His debut as a lead actor came with V.V. Vinayak’s Akhil in 2015 opposite debutante actor Sayesha Saigal. The film was produced by actor Nithin. In order to prepare for the film, the star child enrolled in a stunt workshop with his personal trainer Kicha and attended workshops in Thailand for two months. The film began its production in December of 2014.
The film got poor reviews and did a poor performance at the box office. Following this, he went on to a two-year hiatus. His second movie was Hello and was directed by Manam’s Vikram Kumar. It released on 22nd December 2017, along with Middle-class Abbayi and turned to be a below-par grosser despite good reviews. His latest project is Mr Majnu and is directed by Venky Atluri opposite Niddhi Agerwal. It released on 25th January 2019.
Presently he is working on his fourth film Most Eligible Bachelor opposite Pooja Hedge and is produced by Geetha Arts, Bunny Vas and Vasu Sharma. It is directed by Bhaskar. The film’s first look was set to release on 8th February 2020.
