Kartik Aaryan (born on 22^nd November 1990) is an Indian Bollywood actor and model. He started his acting career with the movie, Pyaar ka punchnama in the year 2011 alongside Luv Ranjan and Nushrat Bharucha. The movie was a blockbuster. He also did Akaash Vani in 2013 and Kaanchi: The Unbreakable in 2014 but they were not a success at the box office. He did two more movies alongside Luv Ranjan and Nushrat Bharucha i.e. Pyaar ka Punchnama 2 in 2015 and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety in 2018. Both movies were commercially successful but also received criticism for their misogynistic plots. Even though those two movies proved to be the breakthrough for Kartik. Later on, he also starred in movies called Lukka Chuppi and Pati Patni Aur Who in 2019. Apart from acting, he also does brand endorsements for several products. He appeared in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list in 2019.

Early Life and Background

Kartik Tiwari a.k.a Kartik Aaryan was born in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. He belongs to a Hindu family and his parents along with his sister are doctors. His father, Manish Tiwari is a pediatrician while his mother, Mala Tiwari, is a gynecologist. He completed his schooling at St. Paul’s School, Gwalior, and then went to Mumbai to pursue a career in acting. He joined DY Patil College of Engineering there while secretly harboring ambitions for a career in the film industry. He’d skip classes and travel for two hours in order to give auditions. He did a course from Kreating Charakters Institute after years of unsuccessfully auditioning for films. He informed his parents about his interest in pursuing acting as a career only after signing his first contract.

There are on-and-off rumors of Kartik Aaryan dating his female co-actors. He was rumored to dating his Pyaar ka punchnama actress, Nushrat Bharucha. There are also rumours of him dating actress Sara Ali Khan after their movie, Love Aaj Kal 2. However, both of them haven’t accepted or denied the rumors.

Kartik Aaryan finally landed a lead role in the romantic comedy, Pyaar ka Punchnama in 2011 after years of auditioning, modeling, and attending acting workshops. After that, the actor also appeared in movies like Akaash Vani in 2013 and Kaanchi: The Unbreakable in 2014. However, the movies didn’t make it big at the box office. After a year, Kartik made a strong comeback with the sequel of his debut movie, pyaar ka punchnama 2 in 2015. It provided a boost to his career. He also appeared in the 2018 blockbuster movie, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety 2018 which made 150 crores approx. at the box office despite getting mixed reviews. Later he appeared in the romantic comedy, Luka Chuppi in 2019 alongside Kriti Sanon and also appeared in the remake of the 1978 classic movie, Pati Patni Aur Woh. He starred alongside Sara Ali Khan in the remake of the movie, Love Aaj Kal which is directed by Imtiyaz Ali in 2020. He has also been shooting for Dostana 2 and other movies. Apart from acting, he’s also the brand ambassador for many well-known brands.
