Early Life and Background
Chakraborty was born in Kolkata, India to Filmmaker Utpalendu Chakraborty and Film Director Satarupa Sanyal. Her sister Chitrangada Chakraborty is an actress. She began her modeling career while still a high school student. After passing her 10th board exam, she made her television debut at the age of 15 as the lead female in the well-known Indian Bengali television series Ogo Bodhu Sundari. Despite juggling many tasks at once, Chakraborty, a high school student at the time, maintained her grade point average.
She later achieved All-India national distinction in Bengali and History for the 12th board exams. Chakraborty pursued history at Jadavpur University after graduating from high school. Chakraborty earned her degree in 2021 from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she studied in the UCLA Professional Program at the UCLA School of Theatre, Film, and Television and won the Acting for the Camera Pitch Competition for her multiracial play Colors of Silence.

Ritabhari Chakraborty is in a relationship with Doctor Tathagata Chatterjee. The duo has been spotted spending time together abroad in 2022. However, the couple has kept their relationship private, and in an interview in 2021, she said that she had no plans of getting married anytime soon.

Career
Initially, Chakraborty played the lead female character in the Bengali television series Ogo Bodhu Sundari. Because of the show’s enormous popularity, Sasural Genda Phool, its Hindi equivalent, was also produced. She also portrayed the lead character in the STAR Jalsha television program Chokher Tara Tui. She had to leave the concert early, nevertheless, owing to health problems.
Additionally, Chakraborty was associated with the theatre company Jojok. In a Gautam Halder-directed theatrical rendition of Tagore’s Noshtonir, she portrayed Charulata.
In 2017, Ritabhari and Ayushmann Khurrana appeared in a music video for Orrey Mon that was made by Ritabhari’s own production firm, SCUD.
