His channel is best known for Compa videos and PUBG videos. Shanmukh is known to make several popular web series like Software Developer, Men will be Men, and Famous Wives. Early life and background
Shanmukh Jaswanth was born Lauren Shanmukh Jaswanth Kandregula in Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. He was born to his father Apparao Kandregula and his mother Umarani Kandregula. He has a brother named Sampath Kandregula who is an entrepreneur by profession. He went to Bengaluru to pursue Engineering from Amrita School of Engineering but later on left college mid-way to pursue a Bachelor of Business Management from Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management. He was a dancer at heart since his childhood and learned dancing by watching YouTube videos. He has also performed in various college fests.

The YouTuber is in a relationship with dancer, actress, and social media influencer, Deepthi Sunaina. They are often seen together hanging out and posting pictures on social media. Career
Shanmukh started his YouTube career in 2013, he uploaded his first video “Cadbury Laddu Ad by Shanmukh”. He got major recognition in 2013 after appearing in “The Viva by Sabarish Kandregula”. He also appeared in various videos of VIVA like “The interview by Sabarish Kandregula” (2013), “The big fat proposal” (2016), and the series “Viva News”. After that, he started uploading his own dance covers of several Hindi songs like “Hosanna”, “Kala Chashma” and “Bezubaan”. His 10th January 2017 dance cover, “You and Me” caught a lot of audience attention but soon had to quit making dance covers as he started facing copyright issues from the filmmakers. He again came into fame in 2020 after appearing in the YouTube web series “The Software Developer” where he played the role of the shy middle-class boy, Mr. Shannu working in the software company who fell in love with Vaishnavi has friend-zoned him. He has worked in short films like Seetha I’m Not A Virgin (2017), Boomerang (2017), and Chaturvyuha (2018). The YouTuber was the contestant of the dance reality show “Dance Plus Telegu” in 2021 in the team “Darjeeling evils”.
Controversy
An anonymous lawyer lodged a petition against the short film “Sita, I’m not a virgin” in 2017 as the use of the name goddess “Sita” in the title with the words “I’m Not a Virgin” hurt the sentiments of the Hindus and was considered inappropriate according to Hindu mythology. Shanmukh in an interview said that they had no intention of hurting anyone’s sentiments and the film was just a carrier of a bold message in which the character’s (Deepthi Sunaina) name was Sita and had nothing to do with the Ramayana. He furthermore added to not make assumptions based on the title before even watching the entire movie. The title was later changed to “Seetha I’m Not A Virgin” to dismiss the charges.
