Hansika Motwani (born on 9th August 1991) is an Indian actress who primarily works in Tamil films. She also appears in Telegu, Malayalam and Hindi language films. Hansika made her debut in the industry with the Telegu film “Desamuduru”. She is the recipient of several awards including Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut – South.

Early life and Background
The South Indian actress was born to a Sindhi family in Mumbai. Her father is a businessman while her mother is a dermatologist. Her parents divorced in 2004 after which she started living with her mother.
Hansika attended the Poddar International School at Mumbai and the International Curriculum School, Santacruz.
Personal life
Hansika Motwani is a philanthropist. She provides financial aid to 25 underprivileged children and also takes care of the medical needs of 10 women suffering from breast cancer. She is the Brand Ambassador of Chennai turns Pink, an awareness program to promote breast cancer awareness among women.
In 2014, she received acclaim for appearing in Forbe’s 250 celebrities list.

Career
The artist has appeared in several Telegu films including Kranti and Maska. She started her Tamil career with the film Mappillai and then appeared in several highest grossing Tamil films such as Engeyum Kadhal, Velayudham, Oru Kal Oru Kannadi and Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru. The actress debuted in Malayalam cinema with the film Villain.
Hansika started her television career with shows like – Shaka Laka Boom boom, Des mein niklla hoga chand and also was one of the children in the film Koi milgya with Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta.
Her debut film Desamuduru was shot when she was only 15 years old and it also got her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. At the age of 16, she also signed for a movie called Aap ka Suroor with Himesh Reshammiya.
In 2016, she did a movie called Aramanai 2 directed by Sundar C which received mixed reviews. She had a series of flops later that year. Her last release in 2016 was Manithan in which she played the role of a teacher. She did the movie Bogan in 2017 which was received well.
The movie also resulted in a lot of praise for her performance. In 2018 she played a con artist’s role named Viji in Gulebakavali. Another of her release in 2018 was Thuppakki Munai, Star Atharvaa in 100, a Tamil film directed by Sam Anton. The next of her films were women-centric like Maha directed by U.R Jameel, a Tamil project Partner and an Untitled heroine-centric film.
